Description[?]:
It is Imperative that we, in this privileged body, see to it that more is done to alleviate the plight of workers in this country. It is imperative that we end the cruel, unusual, and archaic practice of child labor, that we ensure that the elderly retire at a younger age, and are able to enjoy the golden years of their lives at home, or traveling, with the friends, families, and their loved ones. That there are national banks, not profit centers, to loan money at reasonable interest rates to lower income families so that people can buy homes and cars and contribute and participate in our ever growing economy. We should encourage democratic workers councils, so that workers can have voices in the places where they work. We should encourage trade unions to negotiate the working hours, so that fathers and mothers can spend more time at home, with their kids, setting examples and spending quality time nurturing the family unit's bond. Families, after all, are the cornerstone of our society. |

Message | Mr. Speaker, I know not from whence this left-wing radical has come, and what he is doing in Luthori, but I must applaud him for providing me, I am sure most others I this chamber, with much-needed comedic relief during a rather dull period of our legislative session. Luthori has seen massive corporate investments by the likes of Renou, Delamare, Watkins Brown, and WTD, among other companies. Luthori's business atmosphere has historically been conducive to economic growth, though in recent years, socialist politics have coiled themselves dangerously around our country's economic policy. Just last year, the Office of Economic Analysis under the Ministry of Finance released its year-end report showing Luthori's economy growing, and the long term trends point to greater profits and a higher living standard for all. If the Workers Party wishes to grow beyond a fringe movement, they should be able to compromise with the popular sentiment, which clearly has favored right-wing policies for centuries. Message | Mr. Speaker, While we appreciate the commentary offered up by the honorable Mr. Buckley, we would hope that this noble body is, as it should be, above the childish school yard antics of name calling. Certainly the good people of our great empire deserve more from us that that, surely the high calling of statesmanship demands more from us than that. The honorable Mr. Buckley speaks of comedic relief, allow me to ask him, "who is laughing?" The children, who due to the socio-economic position of his or her parents, that are forced in to childhood labor are not laughing! The elderly who are forced to work into their golden years, until the ripe old age of 67, because that's the ridiculous age of professional retirement decided on by this body who hasn't done a hard days work ever, aren't laughing! Those who are working 12 and 13 hour days because that's what local governments, influenced by those oh so very generous corporations Mr. Buckley mentioned, decided on are not laughing! The question that lay before this body is this, "Who's interest do we serve? Who are we representing? Are we here working to improve the lives of the already well off or those who are doing their damndest to get by?" I hope you will all consider that question as you decide on how to cast your vote for this piece of legislation. Edison Turner Leader of the Luthorian Worker's Party |

Random fact: Players who consent to a particular role-play by acknowledging it in their own role-play cannot then disown it or withdraw their consent from it. For example, if player A role-plays the assassination of player B's character, and player B then acknowledges the assassination in a news post, but then backtracks and insists the assassination did not happen, then he will be required under the rules to accept the validity of the assassination role-play. |
