Bill: OOC: Gubernatorial Elections Updates, 4141

Details

Submitted by[?]: Fortschrittsvereinigung

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: November 4196

Description[?]:

With the State Council and Presidential elections now come the Gubernatorial elections! There have been a few changes, so I'll publish the election results here:

Westmark:
Progress Party (Hold) - Gunther Gutenberg
Green Party (Gain) - TBD

Largonia:
Radical Party (Hold) - Frieda Maus
For the Future! (Hold) - Rosemunda Holdenbraum

Dorvan:
TVPD (Hold) - TBD
Green Party (Gain) - TBD

Miktar:
Radical Party (Hold) - Evelin Walter
For the Future! (Hold) - Rosemunda Ludwig

Kordusia:
TVPD (Hold) - TBD
Progress Party (Gain) - TBD

Greater Haldor:
Green (New) - TBD

As you may have noticed, a new gubernatorial constituency has been created, in the form of our nation's capital, Haldor and its outer administrative area. Me and the DSU (now KP) decided to do this to break the deadlock of governors as there is currently only ten, an even number, and for better RP. The regions governors are determined by the top two parties in the state council elections of that region (or if one party gets over 50% of the votes they go on to receive both governors). With the Greater Haldor constituency that has to be decided by RP as no statistics for cities are given on the game. Seeing the Greens held a gubernatorial seat in Kordusia (the region Haldor is in) in the previous term and lost it by a slim margin, and seeing as cities are generally more left leaning than other areas, I thought it would make sense to give this constituency to them.

Please do either message me, message on here or fill in yourself on the wiki the names of new governors, or governors we still don't have the names of (the TVPD, Socialist Future Party and the Freedom Party from memory haven't yet submitted any of their past or present governors). For more references about the Governors system, catch up with my previous bill about it:

MessageOOC: I see the left-leaningness of the city making sense, obviously we need some sort of measure. Like adding % to left leaning parties and removing it from right-leaning parties. Not sure how much % though

Messageooc: we can work out a consensus, let's say that if a party for example TVPD or any other party more to the right has an advantage of 10 seats in Kordusia, then the left-leaning party loses its seat, and in a situation when the left-leaning party is on third place or further then the governor's seat winner is obviously for the party who won in the province.

I'm currently working on maps of Fairfax (Dorvan), Ussendorf (Miktar), Oststadt (Westmark), and Schwarzenbüren (Largonia) so that every major city in the country is treated as a Greater Administrative Area (so it means 4 additional governors). I will update them on the wikia and here. I am awaiting your responses.

1) My mistake, I meant KU not KP xD
2 & 3) Perhaps, we'll need that for the future. This election is fairly easy to guestimate though, due to the Greens only being very slightly behind me, and it'd make sense I'd pick up some of the more progressive rural votes instead of them.
4) Cheers, will add!

MessageIn dorvan TVPD got exactly 51 seats so it means that it gets two governors in that province.

Random fact: By default the head of government is the ultimate authority within a national government. In general terms, heads of government are expected to consult with cabinet colleagues (including those from other parties) before making significant decisions but they remain responsible for government action.
