Message | Mr. Speaker, I rise today, in this hallowed hall, and I find myself hard pressed not to laugh at this, what is sure to be, not a serious legislation proposal but something intended to cause us all to laugh. Surely, surely, the national conservative party isn't serious in offering up this fodder for us to vote on. Let me remind the National Conservative Party of the election that just took place. The people of this country very headily handed them, and the other conservative parties, a letter of rejection. They said "NO!" to conservative politics, agendas, proposals, and legislation. They've rejected, loudly, this type of agenda. They don't want this type of legislation. They're said, loudly and clearly, that they want forward thinking progressive legislation and agenda to move this country forward. I couldn't imagine any serious politician would vote for this joke of a proposal. Not after the election results. Not after the people spoke so loudly and clearly that they're opposed to this type of legislation and agenda. I yield. Edison Turnder, Leader of the LWP and MD from Geharon |

Message | Mr. Speaker, I think I speak for everyone in this chamber when I say that I am glad to hear that Mr. Richardson is not going to back down from his principled stand against fishing quotas. (Laughs loudly.) I yield, Mr. Speaker, I yield. (Continues laughing.) Edison Turner Leader of the LWP and MD from Geharon |

Message | Mr. Speaker, The only thing more humorous this joke of a piece of legislation is Mr. Richardson's laughable claim that this rubbish is aimed at helping the working class. Let's examine this piece by piece, shall we? How is the proposal that government have no policy concerning working hours beneficial to the working class? HOW?! I beg that Mr. Richardson tell this body, and tell the hard working people of this country, how the government turning a blind eye to companies requiring employees working 12, 13, and 14 hour days beneficial to them? Without this government having a policy on daily working hours, there will be no such things as overtime. Families would lose some of the very little income they have. This is about helping the working class he says. No sir, this is about you and your corporate friends screwing the working class is what it's about!! How, pray tell, Aaron, is a compulsory private pension system about helping the working class? Oh yes, forcing people to place their retirement plans in the hands of yours and the HDU's friends at Watkins and Brown's finance company is going to really help them out! We've seen how that goes, the firm gambles with the money and people lose their entire life savings and can't retire and must work until their dead. Yeah, you're interested in helping out the working class all right. At least the corrupt HDU had the good sense and good faith to vote against this rubbish! And to the point that fishing quotas hurt those who make their living fishing, what a joke. What a terrible, terrible joke. The only people it hurts are the large companies in the food industry who would, if they could, over fish areas so they can over produce and lower their prices and drive out the competition of small, local, and family ran businesses. Those working class, small fishing operations exist precisely because there are fishing quotas Perhaps Aaron thinks that we in this body or those good people outside of these four walls are stupid, but let me remind him that we nor they are. We're paying attention. This bill isn't aimed at helping the working class. It's aimed at screwing them over and lining the pockets of those who donated to your campaign and to your party. We know it. You know it. And those at home know it. I yield. Edison Turner Leader of the LWP and MD from Geharon |
