MessageMr Speaker

I would like to welcome Mr Norman to Aloria. The Luthorian Foreign Affairs Minister and I have held talks ourselves and these talks will continue. I think this is a good time to discuss the Luthorian Treaty of Diplomatic Relations (http://classic.particracy.net/viewtreaty.php?treatyid=3221), which we have not yet ratified. I am hoping we will ratify this before the next election. I hope you have a great time in Aloria.

Raffael Mandel, Alorian Foreign Affairs Minister

MessageMr. Mandel,

It is an honor to be in Aloria, one of the natural gems in all of Artania. Luthori and Artania have a strong relationship dating back centuries to May 3948 when the Luthori-Aloria Treaty was ratified. Since then, our two countries have maintained an embassy and several consulates in both our country's, occasionally held joint military trainings at our bases, and existed side-by-side in a trade relationship that sees no barriers to the free movement of goods. In short, the relationship has been an amiable and productive one. In spite of that, it has been some time since representatives from either country have paid a visit to the other. I intend to break that streak in this visit. This visit with the Foreign Minister marks the beginning of my trip in Aloria, and here today, I hope to discuss the ratification of the Luthori Treaty of Diplomatic Relations, the cornerstone treaty of Luthori's foreign policy. It simply outlines the procedures for diplomatic protocol and opens an embassy and consulates. For our proposes, it simply resolves an administrative issue. Next, I would like to discuss a formal mutual defense agreement between our two countries. Such an agreement would upgrade our current military relationship. Third, I would like to discuss Aloria's position on the Security Council A seat. We just had the Security Council elections, and once again, Luthori trailed Hawu Mumenhes, this time by 6 votes. Having Luthori in the seat would be much more beneficial to Aloria than Hawu Mumenhes because Aloria would have a strong ally in the seat, a country who shares our democratic beliefs and wants to promote peace and prosperity around the world, yet realizes at the same time that it is important to uphold national sovereignty.

With my short speech done, I will now listen intently to Mr. Mandel's response. Following that, I will meet with the Party leaders in the House.

The Luthorian Foreign Affairs Minister visits the Watkins Brown Group PLC office in Craigtref, Aloria. Watkins Brown opened operations in Aloria in November 4141 (http://forum.particracy.net/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=7082#p109030). At the office, Minister Norman met with employees and gave a short speech.

"It's great to see so many men and women hard at work. The Luthori-Aloria bilateral relationship has helped grow both our economies due to a complete elimination of all trade barriers. That's one of the reasons why Watkins Brown, a Luthorian company, and so many other companies have been operating and creating jobs here, and vice-versa. I hope this wonderful relationship continues, and I applaud your government and your people for being a very genial host and for all the work you do."

MessageMr Norman

The free movement of goods has, indeed, been productive for both Aloria's and Luthori's economies, with thousands of jobs being created in both counties, providing hardworking people with a place of work and pride. As well as ratifying the Luthori Treaty of Diplomatic Relations, we must also stride for further ties between our two countries, but not just economically. Aloria and Luthori must work more closely together on military issues. To do this, we need to start discussing a mutual defence agreement. Since our country left the Artanian Union, something which I fully supported, we have been making sure we maintain good relationships with countries across Artania and beyond. This is another sign that we can prosper outside of the union, through developing unique, bilateral agreements with other nations, such as Luthori. This is also why we must consider our vote for Security Council Seat A very carefully. Do we want to continue how we are going currently, or have the chance of a close ally, a friend, being in control of the seat. That's why we must support Luthori for Seat A. As Mr Norman said, our two countries promote peace, democracy, cooperation, but we also support national sovereignty. That is something that is very important to us.

Raffael Mandel, Alorian Foreign Affairs Minister

MessageMr. Norman,

Just to add a little note here, allow me to first emphatically say that the Hosian Democratic Union is an ardent supporter of national sovereignty. We would not at all like international organizations to impose their laws on Luthori, nor any other country. Luthori, if it were on the security council, would be a voice of moderation and caution against interventionism.

As for a military agreement, I have drafted the Luthori Treaty of Mutual Defense (http://classic.particracy.net/viewtreaty.php?treatyid=3557), which would create a mutual defense relationship between our two countries. I strongly urge Aloria to ratify the treaty.

MessageDefense Minister Nikolaus Forst,

I'm honored to be meeting with you today. Luthori and Aloria have enjoyed a special relationship dating back to the 3900s. In this vein, I wish to continue our strong military alliance. Not only do I see both our countries bound to the Luthori Treaty of Mutual Defense, but I also envision our two armed forces partaking in joint training operations for our mutual benefit. In addition, I would like to discuss cooperation in signals intelligence and information sharing.

MessagePresident Bartz and Foreign Affairs Minister Mandela,

I am glad to say that my trip to Aloria has been a very enjoyable one thus far. I commend you both for your service to your country and the work you have put into maintaining the Luthori-Aloria bilateral relationship. I am hopeful that Aloria will ratify the Luthori Treaty of Diplomatic Relations (http://classic.particracy.net/viewtreaty.php?treatyid=3221) and the Luthori Treaty of Mutual Defense (http://classic.particracy.net/viewtreaty.php?treatyid=3557). I also intend to provide whatever assurances are necessary to earn Aloria's sacred vote for the A seat on the World Congress Security Council. We understand that it is a very important decision to make, and hat is why we wish to make sure that our two nations see eye-to-eye on world affairs. Before I finish my remarks, I would like to note that the Luthorian Ambassador to Aloria is Iain Mitchell (http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=496812).

Thank you.

MessageMr Norman

The 3900s was a great time for our relationship. Our party, then known as the Aloria National Party, played a big role in developing the relationship between Luthori and Aloria back then, and we hope to do the same today. Mutual defence is very important in turbulent times, but even more important in times of peace, as we need to make sure we are prepared for any threat, and we need to make sure our allies are well equipped to defend themselves. Therefore, as soon as some administrative work is done making sure we are in accordance with the treaty's terms, we will gladly ratify the Luthori Treaty of Mutual Defense. We are committed to sharing information with our close allies to keep us all safer.

The free trade agreement that has existed between our two countries for some time has benefitted us both, for example the recent expansion of Watkins Brown into Aloria. I'm committed to maintaining these links, and working closely with Mandel and yourself to improve trade even more.
