Voting deadline: July 4147
Description[?]:
Mr. Speaker, The family, as we all know, is the cornerstone of our great society, and indeed every great civilization. It is a good thing, that this government does, in providing child benefits for poor and low income families. But, we can and we should do more. Large families, that may not be classified as poor or low income, also need help. Child care, when you have a large family, is expensive. We ought to do more to help those families. |
Proposals
Article 1
Proposal[?] to change The government's policy regarding child benefit.
Old value:: The state guarantees child benefit to families classified as low-income or poor.
Current: Child benefit policies are left to local governments.

Message | Mr. Speaker, The term "low-income" encompasses families of all sizes. What the Worker's Party is proposing is that we waste taxpayer money on subsiding middle class and wealthy families that happen to be large. I say it now and I will say it again: the HDU cares for all Luthorians, but we also have principles, which seem to be lacking in Mr. Turner's party. The well-off are well-off. We should use the money we get through our revenues for other, more useful, purposes. I yield. The Rt Hon. Margaret Patterson MD Leader of the HDU Minister of Education and Culture |

Message | Mr. Speaker, I hold the same sentiment as he HDU. There is no point in this, especially from a Socialist point of view, giving child benefit to big families and poor ones gives no incentive to the rich to have bigger families, and nor does it do the same for there poor because they already get paid by the state for their current number of children. I yield, Emma Genn Imperial Prime Minister |
