MessageIsn't it ironic that the socialistic parties, who claim to be in support of the rights of the workers, will not recognize the workers' rights to be free from union membership, union fees, and union coercion, even when the workers themselves desire to be free from such constraints? Isn't it ironic that the far left, who claim to speak for the voiceless, poorest men, want to raise minimum wage to such a point that companies cannot afford to hire unskilled workers at all, or would not hire them even if they could, because their value to the company would not be worth the wages they would be payed? Socialism, in general, is an ideology which leads to poverty, oppression, and ultimately tyranny. It is not an ideology whose primary intention is to protect the working class, but an ideology whose intentions are always rooted in the nefarious quest for totalitarian power. The Republican Party will always oppose these sorts of measures which hurt the economy and the lower class, and which are fundamentally contradictory to the values of a democratic society. --Amelia Haden

MessageThe Republican's objections are based on a misinterpretation of this proposal. Closed shops, union shops, and agency shops are all VOLUNTARY arrangements between a union and an employer; why should any such arrangements be banned, if both parties agree?

We suggest the Republicans try informing themselves before committing to such an embarrassingly overblown response. As for the rest of their rant, we suggest that they calm themselves with a whisky before they give themselves strokes. The working man of Rutania is not fooled by their crocodile tears.

MessageHow is it a voluntary agreement if the employee is forced to pay union fees even though they are not part a union, or are forced to join a union after a certain period of time? Our "crocodile tears" come from the fact that the working class does not agree to such arrangements, and ought not be forced accept them as such.

MessageIt is a voluntary agreement between the union and the employer. The potential employee that comes along later has no right to demand the end of that agreement, and has the option to join the union and take the job, or look elsewhere.
