Bill: Right to Strike Bill of July 4152

Details

Submitted by[?]: Scientian Enclave

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: September 4153

Description[?]:

Emergency workers in this country are held hostage by the bureaucracy that refuses to give them bargaining leverage. As you know, without leverage, bargaining is essentially reduced to begging. Let us end the exploitation of the men and women who risk their lives to keep us safe.

The Proletarians stand in solidarity with Hutorian workers and will continue to fight the growing tide against their bargaining power, the question is, are the other parties made of cowards or men?

Message"Mr Speaker,

The Hutorian Socialist Party will support this bill. If the government doesn't wish for these emergency workers to strike, then they must pay them fair wages and treat them properly in the workplace. If you care about worker's rights, vote FOR the Right to Strike Bill."

MessageMr. Speaker

I will note that Essential Service Worker's; the only ones affected by the previous legislation and were very clearly defined, do not have their Labour or Strike Rights revoked at all; to imply otherwise is Leftist and Metzist propaganda. Essential Service. Under the original legislation Essential Service Worker's, which were defined as the police, fire protection, medical and medical support staff all had to ensure that at least 10% of their work force remained working at any given time, though who striking and working could be entirely decided upon by their Union. That was so the minimum public safety could be maintained. With their new sponsored Bill that goes out the window.

Mr. Speaker I demand to know from the Hutorian Socialist Party and New Democratic Party what their responses to their constituents will be if, during Labour action by one of the aforementioned unions, one of their constituents are mugged because they are no police... one of their constituents dies from lack of medical care becuase there were no doctors nurses or support staff available or, God forbid, one of their houses burn down becuase the firefighters were busy on the picket line in front of City Hall.

I expect this mind of garbage from the HPP, from the Socialists and New Democrats, I expected so much more and if this passes I certainly hope you are ready to look into your consciences eyes and explain to them about fair Labour practises while they are suffering from being homeless or the victims of crimes or sick.

I will note, for the record, that members of the Essential Service m, whose contracts have been handled almost exclusively through the Provincal and Municipal Governments, already have amongst the most generous wage and benefit packages in the entire public sector; outside of the Hutorian Armed afro festival for example, the Hutorian Federal Police Service are the highest paid public servants on average.

Message"Mr Speaker,

We were not aware of the policy in place that the unions controlled who remained working during strikes, and we feel that it is then appropriate to change our vote on the matter. I'd like to thank Mr Woodbury for bringing this to our attention."
