Description[?]:
Properly passed here: http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=502337 *Brief history* As an immigrant nation founded by people of many different origins, Dranland serves as a melting pot of influences from all across the region and beyond. Many believe Kyo (Korean) nomads, a splinter group from the ancient Kunihito and Yingdalans, to be the first ethnic group to arrive in Dranland, settling in the area already in the 7'th century. Kyo kingdoms would remain an important force on the peninsula until the Kyo Kingdom known as Baeguk was forced to become a vassal of Egelion in 1633. In 1721 the nation was annexed by Egelion and became known as Drania. The Draddwyr (Welsh) arrived some time after the Kyo, migrating from present-day Aloria through the Great Dovani Plain which they still dominate today. Traditionally discriminated against especially under far-right Kyo or Draniano regimes, the Draddwyr have been subject to two genocides, in the 24'th and 37'th centuries respectively but always re-established themselves as extreme nationalism among the other groups waned. Draddwyr culture and symbolism maintains a heavy presence in Dranland's public life and often represents the nation aboard, with famous symbols such as the Draddwyr (Celtic) Cross. The traditional centre of the nation have otherwise been the Dranianos (Filipino) who are primarily a mix of Koreans and Egelian colonists who arrived in the 2'th millennia. Draniano may have some Draddwyr heritage as well. They speak Egelian (Spanish). Most Dranish are thought to have a have mixed heritage to some extent, but some belonging to nationalist groups or ideologies might not recognize this. Many who had no clear single ethnic identity were forced to register as “Kyo” under the ultra-nationalist regimes of the late 4'th millennia. They would eventually reject that label as Dranland became a multicultural democracy again and simply declare themselves “Dranish”. Luthorian has been an official language in Dranland for centuries and is almost universally understood among Dranish people. It has in particular been the language of business for well over a millennia, recognized even under the ultra-nationalist Kyo regimes. Many famous leading Dranish politicians have had Luthorian names such as “Breckinridge” or “Woodhall”, reflecting Dranland's multicultural heritage. It is not uncommon for Dranish people to have names of mixed origin either such as “James Rodrigo Kim“ or “Gwendolyn Sung”. Among other minority groups, we find Kazulians (Norweigans) and some Hulstrians (Austrians), the later who fled rising authoritarianism in their country and aligned themselves with the liberal democratic values and multiculturalism traditionally associated with Dranland, similar to Hulstira & Gao Soto under Septembrism. *Ethnic demographics* Kyo – 35% Dranianos – 26% Draddwyr – 12% Dranish (mixed culture/ethnicity) – 12% Kazulian – 7% Hulstrian – 3% Other – 5% As a multicultural modern democracy, Dranland has religious followers from religions originating from all over the world, however Hosianism and Daenism has historically competed for dominance. Many Draddwyr belong to their own form of Draddwyr Daenism which is closely related to mainstream Mazdâyanâ, although this tradition has followers of other ethnicities as well. Draddwyrs have also influenced the Hosian Church, with some aligning themselves with the Terran Patriarchal Church which is open to syncretic beliefs. Kyo nationalists have attempted to created their own faith called Seodongyo with influences from all eastern religions and a Hosian structure, with mixed results. Dranland also has a notably large presence of deists, agnostics or atheists or people who just simply do not belong to any form of organized religion. *Religious demographics* Hosianism (Christianity) – 23% - Auroran Patriarchal Church (Catholicism) – 10% - Terran Patriarchal Church (Orthodox with Pagan mythology) – 8% - Luthoran (Lutheran) - 5% Daenism (Buddhism) – 29% - Mazdâyanâ (Mahayana) – 19% - Draddwyr Daenism (Celtic Bhuddism) – 10% Paganism – 10% - Sendo (Korean Shamanism) – 4% - Draddwyr (Celtic) paganism – 3% - Other Neopaganism (PT equivalents of Wicca, occultism, theosophy etc.) – 3% Seodongyo (Syncretic Korean faith) – 10% Unafficiated – 20.95% Yeudism – 2% Thetanism (Scientology) – 0.05% Other – 5% *Character naming* Characters should be named after the ethnic group they belong to or a mix of these. As Luthorian is one of countries the main languages, Dranish people may have partially or fully English names, but this should ideally not be the case with all Dranish characters. Some more liberal/progressive-oriented Dranish people may have westernised Kyo names with a western naming order (such as “Sonja Lee” instead of “Li Sonja”) or names mixed origin (“Trystan Goméz-Kim”, etc.). Party names should be in English, but players would ideally familiarize themselves with the party names in at least the three main languages (Welsh, Spanish and Korean).
