Bill: The Guarantee Act

Details

Submitted by[?]: Proletariat Revolution Party

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: April 2061

Description[?]:

No one citizen of Likaton shall ever be subject to the malicious practices of dictatorial regimes. They shall never live in a state of fear and they shall retain their basic human rights.

Every citizen has the right to live in and vote in a free and democratic Likaton, in which all have a voice.

The only condition upon which any citizen is stripped of his or her rights, is upon being convicted of a capital crime. But, even then, they shall not be subject to any form of torture, be it psychological or physical.

MessageAnd why? Why shouldn't people have equal rights? Why shouldn't they have a right to a progressive system? Why should they liev under the repressive thumb of the state?

MessageWell, they weren't clear about it. They were being very ambigeous with their all-round generic "no" response. But, nevertheless, I have changed it to ensure that torture is NOT an option.

MessageI like that last phrase. The nice thing is, we don't say "no" to capital punishment, which will keep the right-wingers happy. (even though we do oppose it)

Random fact: Players who consent to a particular role-play by acknowledging it in their own role-play cannot then disown it or withdraw their consent from it. For example, if player A role-plays the assassination of player B's character, and player B then acknowledges the assassination in a news post, but then backtracks and insists the assassination did not happen, then he will be required under the rules to accept the validity of the assassination role-play.
