MessageThis is a shocking case of the social conservatives behaving in a incredibly old fashioned way it shows how out of touch they are I wouldn't be surprised if their is a influx of parents home-educating their children as this is technically child abuse

"We believe corporal punishment is an effective way to ensure children learn respect, discipline and follow rules and regulations - it will stand them in good state for later life" means that the right are fed up with workers rights and hope that the next generations will be more subservient to the upper classes a classic move to destroy the proletariats will and rights

MessageMr Speaker,

Can the term 'child abuse' please be added to Mr Chistron's growing list of defamatory phrases In preparation for the aforementioned disciplinary action threatened by our president-in-waiting.

Mr Chistron, it is obvious you did not receive corporal punishment at your particular grammar school. If you had received a good thwacking you may now be a bit more respectful, a bit less ill-disciplined and would prefer not to side with the devil over god-fearing and civil Hosian folk.

MessageA disgusting proposal that all decent parties should stand against. No child should ever be allowed to be physically punished - June Brown, Minority Speaker of the House

MessageWhat is it like up there on your high horse, Minority Speaker Brown? This election is going to bring you and your party down to earth with a mighty bump!

This is a sound bill based on sound reasoning - instil discipline into children at an early age and they will respect society and become good and honest citizens. There ain't no arguing with that.

I was thwacked with both the slipper and cane when I was young pupil. It taught me respect, damn right, and no one here can say I haven't turned out fine and upstanding!

MessageThis is a regressive attack by the regressive right agaisnt the minority. This proposal would allow many parent who think their children are gay, lesbian or bisexual to use corporal punishment, in order to change their sexual orientation. Beating kids is never right.

We wonder if the supporting parties even a heart

MessageWhat on earth are you talking about. This is about teachers not parents, and about misbehaving children - nothing to do with sexual orientation.

As parties seem to have such a lack of understanding about this bill, I have instructed my party colleagues to not vote at this time. We will revisit this after the election, when a proper informed debate can take place.

Talk of child abuse and hitting youngsters because of their sexual orientation is just either a smokescreen or down to simple ignorance.

Random fact: In order for a Cabinet bill to pass, more than half of the legislature must vote for it and all of the parties included in the proposed Cabinet must support it. If your nation has a Head of State who is also the Head of Government, then the party controlling this character must also vote for the bill, since the Head of Government is also a member of the Cabinet. If any of these requirements are not met, the bill will not pass.
