Interview
Deborah Smith Baltusian News: Here we have Alex Taylor of the BDGP - thank you for talking to us Mrs Taylor.

Alex Taylor: Not at all, it's a wonderful pleasure to be able to talk to you Deborah.

DS: Once again, we'll be following basically the same format as the last two interviews. So, when and how did you get into politics?

AT: I have, since my time at High School, have been avidly interested in our politics. I was and still am a great supporter of former President Katherine Benn, but I felt that there wasn't quite a party for me so I became an ambassador for many domestic environmental organizations. But when former Chairman James Herbert announced in the late 4120's how he wished to restart the BDGP, I became actively involved. And it's because of that work I am where I am today.

DS: I'm just wondering, what made you want to become an ambassador for these environmental causes?

AT: Well, by the time I was 20, the Right Wing dominance over our country had effectively just began. Through their policies, I felt that our beautiful Baltusian landscape, particularly where I was from in Rococielo, Terrarokka, was being destroyed for corporate gain. And I saw these organizations as a way to help in a productive and peaceful manner. That was definitely a very useful experience.

DS: Besides this and politics, do you have any other interests?

AT: Well I am without a doubt a woman who loves her whole family. My first grandchild was born last year to my third child, my youngest, and I have been doting on him ever since! But I've also been interested in all sorts of literature since University, and also anything to do with good food.

DS: Your party has recently said some pretty strong stuff in Congress recently - I believe June Brown, the Minority Speaker, called the Conservatives 'puppets'. As well as that, the polls in the Presidential Election aren't particularly great right for your campaign right now. What do you say about that?

AT: I will admit, things in debate have gotten quite heated. Many of the bills put forward by the Government, though, has been put forward it seems without any consideration for our party and supporters, who feel very angry about them. But I have tried to calm things down wherever possible. As for the polls, you saw what happened in 4149 so I refuse to be bogged down by any reports - there's still all to play for.

DS: Mrs Taylor, what made you decide last year that you wanted to run for President?

AT: I believe that the country is in need of not only a Left Government, but also a break from continuous Right Wing Alliance rule. Watching the last few elections have been hard, and afterwards I just kept wondering what went wrong. However, after a while, I realized that a lot of what the Left was putting out was exactly the same: there didn't seemed to be new figures or policies. And so I felt that if I ran, I could really change things not just for the Bloc, but for the country as well. So even if I don't win, I feel that the campaign will get people to think...

DS: Just one final question please. What is your opinion on the Baltusian Security Council bid?

AT: I am a strong believer in this bid. I believe that a strong Baltusia is not only better for the world, but it'll give our country a chance to change the international scene for the better. This could be through working with nations, or trying to stop aggression, as we did with Aldegar.

DS: Mrs Alex Taylor, thank you very much for having me. And to the viewers, please tune in next time for another interview. Goodbye.
