Bill: Proposed Candidate to serve as Baltusian Ambassador to Seat E to the Security Council, World Congress
Details
Submitted by[?]: Baltusian International Democratic Party
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: December 4158
Description[?]:
To quote the first amendment of the Constitution: Congress shall vote upon a candidate proposed by the President and Commander in Chief to be the Baltusian Ambassador to either Seat C or E to the Security Council in the World Congress. The proposed candidate will be selected for the whole term if voted in (OOC: 1 month). A new candidate can be proposed (OOC: Around 3-5 days) before the Security Council elections by the President at the time. For the proposed candidate to be approved into their role, Congress must vote in favour by a simple 50% majority. I have decided to select Mr Lewis Wright, ex-Baltusian Foreign Minister and Ambassador to the General Assembly, as the candidate to be Baltusian Ambassador to Seat E to the Security Council. He recently retired from both of his former roles and I recommend that he would be an absoloutely excellent selection for Baltusian Ambassador. Please feel free to ask him any questions or raise any issues you would like him to bring up in the Security Council if he is voted through to this position. Matthew Burgmuller President of Baltusia |

Message | I would normally ask for the candidate to go through a brief hearing, however Mr. Wright was excellent as foreign secretary. We support this nomination. Leader of the Free Market Party, Morris Shephard |

Message | We would like to thank all parties who voted yes to this proposal, particularly those who commented on their support. However, we are disappointed that the Communist Pro-Life Alliance have voted no without questioning Mr Wright or informing Congress why they voted no. I would like to remind them that we have to ALL be 100% behind the Baltusian campaign for the Security Council if we want to have a better Terra. Ambassador Wright is expected to make a speech prior to the election. Matthew Burgmuller President of Baltusia |

Message | Mr Speaker We are going to nomminate someone as Baltusian Ambassador, without hearing that person. it should Mr. Wright responsabilities to prove us why he is the best person to handle this role, and yet he did not speak. Further more, we terrified of the recent pratice in the congress, which tend to always give the most important post to males, rather then female. we at the Pro-life communist alliance, always give women, the same responsabilities as male, we have no leader, we have only co-leaders. Message | Mr Evil, Ok, well perhaps if you had actually bothered to research this nations recent history and influence on the General Assembly you would realise that Mr Wright was an excellent foreign secretary who has contributed to deflating multiple different international issues which would have potentially turned into military conflict. I find it somewhat confusing that you say that you are 'terrified that we have give important roles to males'. My Great-Grand MOTHER founded true conservatism in this nation and she will be turning in her grave hearing that you think a role should be given to someone because of their gender. You know what we do, we put the best, most competent and suited person for the role forward. We have never supported affirmative action, we never will. Please have respect for the Constitution, the first amendment says "Congress shall vote upon a candidate proposed by the President and Commander in Chief to be the Baltusian Ambassador to either Seat C or E to the Security Council in the World Congress. " In case you don't understand grammar- 'A' is singular, as is 'candidate'. Yet again the Pro Life Communist Alliance show their sheer incompetence. Matthew Burgmuller President of Baltusia |

Message | OOC : it happen that I can forget to write some words IC I am simply asking Mr. Wright to present himself to the congress, before we vote on his nommination, and I am accused of "sheer incomptence". While you, Mr Burgmuller, are free to say that Wright is the perfect candidate, we would like the nominee to present himself to the congress before agreeing on his nommination, but instead, you just say, this guy is going to be ambassador, while there are many in our caucus who have never seen Mr. Wright in person. And even if you are president, you are not Mr. Wright. In addition, I was making remark that does not only concern the nommination of Mr. Wright, and it solely meant to say that Women are currently under represented in place of powers, they form at least 50% of population. The alliance has solved this problem, all position of power are divided in two responsable, one male, another female. |

Message | Mr Evil, To answer one of your first concerns I am Foreign Secretary of State, this country's chief diplomat and hold one of the most senior jobs in the government... and I can assure you I am very much all woman! So no more of that rubbish about important jobs only going to males. That is a low watermark even for you. Patricia Grayson Foreign Secretary |

Message | Mr Evil, If you had actually investigated the recent history of Baltusia, you will realise that Mr Wright was a member of the Conservative Party of Baltusia's cabinet as foreign secretary for years. He is an excellent figure and highly respected amongst Baltusians. Mr Wright will not push for some kind of partisan movement in the Security Conhress, rather represent Balusia and the whole of the Terra and try to resolve conflict diplomatically. Message | Sure, we nominate our one of party members to an important post, and we promesse he will be totally independant,. sure... I believe that. And I don't know, but when I was in business, pretty much all business I questionned about feminine participation in decision have answered that one woman took part in their processus, so that proven they gave place to women. We never concluded any deals. Alliance Male Co-Leader : Marnady Evil |

Message | It appears that Mr Evil doesn't understand something about international diplomacy- NOBODY CARES ABOUT PARTISAN DIVIDES, OR DOMESTIC POLITICS. If you, Mr Evil, were to walk in to the Security Council tomorrow and say Mr Wright shouldn't be our nominee because he belonged to a party, everyone would laugh at you. We will nominate the person who is best for Baltusia, and the Terra, not because he is from a particular party. Please grow up, get over party lines, do up your tie, and accept the BALTUSIAN nominee! *Hear Hear! heard from all other parties.* Matthew Burgmuller President of Baltusia |

We never concluded any deals." I assume what you are saying is that when you were in business, you questioned people about feminise participation in any decision and then you ensure that at least one woman took part in the process? If so, actually the Foreign Minister is a woman, Sally Smith, one of the Baltusian ambassadors to the general assembly is a woman. Stop with your affirmative action rubbish. EQUALITY, NOT SUPERIORITY. Dr Julia Baker Majority Speaker |

Message | We have responsabilities as Official opposition to oppose this nommination, we don't feel adequate. And the nommination was accepted by other parties, so the debate is over and will stand by our choice to be the official opposition. that is our role after all. And yeah, you may feel he is the best person for the situation, just like I feel the best people for the positions in government are always members of my party, I wonder why, but I assure you that it is not because they are members of my party. And my proof was simple, Businesses always tried to prove to me, that they gave opportinity to women, by showing one woman was members of their board, and I never accepted it. Strange, after I refused the deal, in 60%, the only woman in board would get fired. How party support the idea of dividing the position of power, rather then affirmative action, which can be done to compensate for ethnic and religious minority.
