Bill: Debureaucratization Act

Details

Submitted by[?]: Grand National Party

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: January 4159

Description[?]:

Mr Speaker,

when government over-indulges in acts of consumer protection, it does not only infantilize consumers but causes real economic damage. When companies are obliged to figure out the meaning of what constitutes an "easily understandable" label design or made to act as dietary advisors to their customers by having to provide "corresponding nutritional information", they have to commit considerable resources to fulfilling these bureaucratic requirements that could otherwise be used for increasing production or meeting actual consumer demands. We therefore propose the following relaxations, which will turn Dranland into an even better place for doing business.

Catherine Breckinridge MLC
Minister of Trade and Industry
Chairwoman of the Grand National Party
