Message | Mr Speaker, increasing the price of a commodity will lead to a decline in its demand - labor is no exception this general rule of economics. I ask the honorable members to draw attention to the fact that this would hit low-skilled workers the hardest, whose jobs might then be the first to be gutted in order to deal with the higher cost of hiring resulting from the implementation of a minimum wage as proposed here.
