Bill: HSP-14: Animal Welfare Act

Details

Submitted by[?]: Hutori Socialists

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: May 4164

Description[?]:

"Mr Speaker,

The Animal Welfare Act seeks to establish high animal welfare standards in livestock farming. Animals experience pleasure and pain just as much as we do and they deserve to be treated in a humane standard. It is unacceptable that the federal government cannot step up and set a national standard for our precious livestock. While we acknowledge that the meat industry is a large sector of our economy, we are appalled that our National Senate cannot ensure that animals are ensured a decent standard of living. Livestock owners will just move their farms to provinces where laws are less tight and where they can make more money over killing animals.

The value of life, especially as on such a large scale as livestock, is much more important than the deregulation of a murderous industry. If you support the respect of all life, vote FOR the Animal Welfare Act."

- Bruno Weiss (HSP-FA)
Food and Agriculture Speaker

Random fact: Parties have the ability to endorse another party's candidate for the Head of State election (if there is one). This adds a strategic element to the elections.

Random quote: "We are told that this is an odious and unpopular tax. I never knew a tax that was not odious and unpopular with the people who paid it." - John Sherman
