Bill: Child Employment Act 4163

Details

Submitted by[?]: Fortschrittsvereinigung

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: September 4165

Description[?]:

We believe children should be allowed to have small jobs. The government seems unaware what having child labour legal but with additional regulation to that of an adult labourer actually means; they think this means a form of slavery, they think this means a return to the workhouses of old. No, what this actually means is very, very different. This means basic jobs such as a paper round, stacking shelves in a newsagents and so forth. Legally, a child is anyone up to the age of eighteen, this means teenagers in a summer break cannot get a holiday job anymore thanks to the government and their ridiculously overly cautious attitude. This simply needs to stop, the State Council is in urgent need of a booster shot of common sense! Thanks to outright banning child labour, it is no longer legal for a child to do a paper round, and it is no longer legal for a sixteen year old to work behind the till at a convenience store. We must repeal these highly restrictive laws and allow minors to have regulated jobs!

MessageMr. Hockmeister,

Making a list for all jobs children can do is almost impossible. There are a lot of jobs and even more variations on those jobs. (OOC: for us, players of a game, it is difficult tot make such a long list.) What government can do, is making a list with conditions.

No jobs classified as high intensive.
No jobs classified as high responsibility.
Maximum workingtime 8 hours. (Is adjustable)
The job may not intervene with school.

This list is open for discussion and modification.

Erwin Heck, chairman of the Libertären Partei.
