Bill: Passport Control Act (2182)

Details

Submitted by[?]: Deltarian Nationalist Party

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: May 2186

Description[?]:

To ensure that all the information that is given is correct then stricter controls should be in place when issuing passports. This will prevent any passports being given with the wrong names/pictures on them and will also make it easier for our nationals to gain entry into another nation as they will know that our nations passports can be trusted. The new passports will contain retina, fingerprint and DNA information about the owner.

MessageWhat extra checks will be performed? The current system simply checks identity and for any reasons to prohibit travel, e.g. court orders.

MessageIf i am absolutely honest i'm not quite sure yet, i am not going to put this bill up for the vote in it's present state that's for sure. I was thinking along the lines that the passport would have the owners fingerprints and retina scan on it, something as difficult as possible to forge.

MessageThough we agree with the UB that this is probably too expensive, and we would prefer the reintroduction of a cursory, rather than invasive, check we support this as it is better than no check at all.
