Bill: Contraceptive Funding Act of November 2182

Details

Submitted by[?]: Proletariat Revolution Party

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: December 2183

Description[?]:

Contraceptives don't encourage an increase in sexual behaviour, it provides protection for those already engaged in such activies. The biggest users of contraceptives are those employed in the sex trade industry and people in long term relationships or marriages.

Increased protection leads to better sexual health and with better sexual health comes fewer people needing health care for preventable diseases. People are sexual creatures in their own right and they are able to make their own choices. By providing them with a chance to protect themselves, the funding of contraceptives can help aliviate some of the burden from our healthcare system

MessageThis is excellent legislation. Subsidised contraceptive are all very good but even they be out of reach of some of our more financially challenged populace. In particular it will ease the burden on married couples who use these methods of birth control on a long term basis as well as reducing unwanted teenage pregnancy.

MessageOCC - This is beginning to sound like the town meeting in Blazing Saddles, with all the Johnsons supporting each other's comments.

IC - The RLP must oppose. The farther the government gets into supporting a business, the greater the opportunities for corruption in the process of granting that support. The actions of the free market will determine the most worthy companies to survive, the government will only interfere in this process and allow ineffeciency to reign supreme.

Message"No way" shouted the leader of the CP. "Contaceptives are cheap and easy, why you can make them yourself", she remembered the advise her mother had given her when she was a youth, she continued "why clingfilm is a cheap an effective alternative, my mother said she used it between 24 and 3mths before I was born, and it never failed her once"
