Bill: Legal Consistency Review - 4172
Details
Submitted by[?]: Great National Republican Guard
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: March 4172
Description[?]:
As Lodamese Nationalism is the official state ideology, the state should bear the responsibility of regulating it. To leave the ideology to the control of private individuals and groups would change the character of the religion. The religion should not have any unchecked influence on the state unless the state has direct influence on the religion. |

Message | Mr. Speaker, We plead for the ruling coalition to reconsider its vote. Currently, Lodamese Nationalism remains the official state ideology/religion of the 2nd Great Democratic Republic, and its ministers are remunerated by the state. If the state is paying these ministers, should it not also have the right to appoint them? We abide by rules and legal procedures, and we are grateful for the ruling coalition's pragmatic policies, and tolerance of Lodamese Nationalism. We have been more hostile to the ruling coalition than they have been to us, and we apologise for that. Lodamese Nationalism was created by the state, and authority of its values always rested in the hands of the President. We think the current government is owed some more control over the religion. The government is a legitimate coalition, confirmed by a majority of the Members of the Presidium; it represents the people. We ask that it sees its right to intervene in the state ideology, even if no other religion. -- Cletus Barlow, Chairman of the GNRG |
