Bill: Parliamentary expansion Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: Democratic-Republican Party
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This bill asks for an amendement to the Constitution. It will require two-thirds of the legislature to vote in favor. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: January 2184
Description[?]:
We must ensure proper representation. Under precedent, we need to have 1 representative per 200,000 people in Hutori. Currently, we only have 1 representative per 218,085. We propose the expansion of Parliament to 320 seats, under which there will be 1 representative per 199,684. This will decrease the power of the government and increase the power of the people over there government. Power to the People. |

Message | We must ask why. This gives more voice to more people, which means that they have more rights, and that means that there is less government, by definition. |

Message | We are against government, we are a libertarian party. Government should be as small as possible ideally so small it does not exist, and it's areas of concern should only be the protection of one citizen from attack, or coercion by another, and protection of the state from aggression from another state. It does not take many MP's to achieve this therefore any attempt to increase government has always been, and likely always will be, resisted by this party as it opposes our most fundamental tenet. |

Random fact: Any RP law granting extraordinary "emergency powers" or dictator-like powers to a government must be passed by at least a 2/3rds majority, but (like all RP laws) may always be overturned by a simple majority vote of the legislature. |
