| Message | Sara Zanardi, Whip of PSLI: "Onorevoli membri della Camera, già lo so, con queste nostre dichiarazioni riceveremmo ampie critiche da tutti i fronti e specialmente dalla destra che, dando ragione ai colleghi dei Verdi, sembra stia facendo più propaganda populistica che altro. Comunque, il PSLI è fondamentalmente contrario a questa decisione ma di certo non per una questione di conservazione di privilegi da "casta", dato che l'attuale legislazione sulla retribuzione dei parlamentari prevedere un salario comparativamente nella media. Il PSLI però è convinto del fatto che non si debba garantire ai rappresentanti della nazione, ed i parlamentari sono anche membri di commissioni, Ministri, sottosegretari ed altri ufficiali e funzionari vari, un salario degno del loro ruolo e delle loro funzioni solo perché si tratta di un privilegio od un riconoscimento tradizionale ed onorifico che accettiamo perché questa è la situazione, ma garantire ai funzionari e rappresentanti dello stato una retribuzione adeguata al loro ruolo ed alle loro funzioni sia un'ulteriore modo per evitare che essi possano venire allettati e possano cedere alla corruzione e quindi che possano accettare mazzette e tangenti varie come forma per "arrotondare" il loro salario. Per questa ragione il PSLI voterà contro questa proposta, indifferenti a qualsiasi futuro attacco che possa arrivare sia dall'opposizione, sia dagli scranni dei nostri alleati sia da membri del nostro stesso partito. | Message | Cari colleghi, il nostro partito preferisce ad restare uno stipendio nella media. Da un lato si deve evitare un sfipendio troppo alto, perchè i parlamnetari devono stare vicini alla gente, ma nemmeno uno stipendio troppo basso, perche siccome che i l parlamentare ricopre ha sempre un potere in grado di influenzare le sorti di un paese, e uno stilendio troppo basso potrebbe rendere alcuni parlamentari corruttibili Dear colegues, the our party prefer to give a salary on the middle. A side we must avoid to have a too high salay, because tha parliametary must be near to the people. BUT not a too low salaty, the parlamentary have a power what can influencate the nation sorts, and too law salary can be make some parliamentary corruptible |

Il motivo è che ogni politico dovrebbe mantenere la propria indipendenza e poter evitare di essere corrotto grazie a un salario alto.
