Bill: Schools Prayers Act 4179

Details

Submitted by[?]: Patriotic Party of Baltusia

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: June 4180

Description[?]:

Members of Congress,

We would like, once again, to open up the debate on religious prayers in schools. In our open, tolerant society we believe that morning prayers in state schools should not be banned outright across the board. It should be up to the individual schools, the teachers, their board of governors and the parents. In deeply religious areas the idea that a parent has to turn their back on state education and look to enrol their child at a religious school just for something as harmless as this is quite restrictive.

A lot of people like to pray not because they are religious zealots but simply because it is something that fills them with a sense of wellbeing and a bond with the rest of humanity and their community. I hope all parties can understand this.
