Bill: Animals in cosmetic testing
Details
Submitted by[?]: Republican Party
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: April 4181
Description[?]:
Testing on animals is necessary in order to properly test the products being sold and make sure that they are safe for human use. We are not calling for unregulated animal testing - this would harbor too much potential for overt animal cruelty to occur. Our country already allows animal testing for research to be performed, albeit with a permit. Although products such as mascara and lipstick may be viewed as frivolous and nonessential (as compared to medicines), the fact remains that thousands of people use them each day, and without adequate testing, a defective product can hurt hundreds of people before a recall can be issued. |
