Message | We suggest that top-rate tax should be reduced in order to support increased private investment and consumption in Vanuku. Currently, government expenditure makes up 40% of our GDP - this means the economy has far too great a reliance on government, and we need to dramatically reduce tax rates in order to redress this issue. |

Message | stop de brain drain! We need to stop the brain drain! More and more of our best and brightest are abandoning Vanuku, and we aren't attracting wealthy investors to our shores. Our tax rates are far too high - we need to reduce this burden on potential investors, and we need to reduce the role of government in our economy! |

Message | Even if the PPP were to accept the notion that the rate of patriotic taxation ought to be reduced (it doesn't), the OPV has failed to follow up with appropriate cuts to expenditure. We do not accept this bill. |

Message | We still have a healthy surplus, and there is no reason to maintain it at this stage when, by all accounts, we have strong financial reserves. As such, we implore the Crown Party to vote in favour of this bill. It is far more important that we create the conditions for economic prosperity, rather than try - and fail - to create that prosperity itself as a government. These are strong, fiscally conservative and economically liberal principles that it should be easy for any party to support, particularly when they don't force us into deficit, and when they don't involve punitive spending cuts. |
Date | 12:34:38, March 15, 2017 CET | From | Partij voor Vooruitgang | To | Debating the Income tax proposal of August 4180 |
Message | If anything, we should be increasing all tax rates! The wealthy of Vanuku have been hoarding our common wealth for too long! We will not accept any cut in tax rates, especially for the top bracket. |
