| My fellow Beluzians, we have been through a time of great turmoil. I was shot in Adoshire, Iker Ado by a man named James Hinckley. I do not hold any contempt towards Mr. Hinckley, we all must learn to be understanding. Mr. Hinckley had a history of mental insanity, he was not in his right mind when he attacked me. I was in the hospital for several months, but I have finally recovered. We all must praise Vice President Irene Luise Ó Seanáin, her actions as Acting President prevented our nation from falling into disunity and chaos. Although my recovery has been swift, I may never fully recover my motor skills. Our country needs a leader to set precedent, and I cannot be that leader. It is with a heavy heart that I announce that I will not seek a second term, but I will serve out the current term until the next election. Before my time as president is up, I will propose to the National Congress the creation of the Executive Office of the President. I will also push the Congress to address mental health, as it is a growing epidemic that has been failed to be addressed by the political establishment. It has been my honor to serve this country as President, Minister of Justice, and Congressman. I wish that I could've done more. He was a good public servant, a faithful populist who persevered every step of the way, no matter how challenging the problems that he faced were.
