Bill: Act for the Prohibition of Poison-Pill Bills

Details

Submitted by[?]: Independent Capitalist Party

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: January 2184

Description[?]:

This bill, if passed with a 2/3 majority, will cease the act of making bills with more than 6 proposals attached to them (with the exception of cabinet bills because they require more than 5 clauses at their core). Unless the bill in violation is passed by more than 2/3 and/or this prohibition bill is repealed, this will stop the disgraceful act of making mega bills to decieve the voters into pushing parties to unreasonable extremes. The Aloria Coalition has stopped making Mega Bills but the AGSP and DSP still do such. This bill will make it a punishable offense, determined by the parties on a case-by-case basis, to make a poison bill.

MessageThe ICP admits that it is our fault that it started but we are trying to rectify it by ending this horrible practice. All it does is cause a cycle of mega bills that serve only to confuse the Alorian people.

MessageIf there's more than 5 clauses unless it's popular enough to get 2/3 chances are it is simply a trap to trick voters...

MessageDSP: So you're advocating voter tricikery? If you like it so much, perhaps I should make a mega bill of my own and see how you feel... :P

Though in all reality, all it does is lead to mega-bill wars which just makes parties an inacurate representation of what they really are to the voters.

MessageAGSP, as I mentioned, I'm willing to stop if you also stop. This bill must pass with 2/3. Your votes no mean that unless DLP returns and votes for this, you hypocrites will allow such bills. If you want to make them legal, may we remind you that the AC is the best at them? If this bill fails to take 2/3s we'll be able to force you all to an unpopular corner, we'll regain power, and then we won't let them be banned.
