Message | Can the Republican Party explain why they want to retreat from these treaties? This sudden vote is politicaly rather desperate.... |

Message | Mr Speaker, This bill has been open to debate for an entire year, 12 months. I do not think it is sudden at all. You had a year to raise concerns, yet you did nothing until it was brought to a vote. Additionally, I doubt that you read the contents of the treaties at all. If you had read it, our reasons would have been immediately clear. Nevertheless, in regards to Article I, the withdrawal from the Dovani Territorial Defense Organization, you can see that we are the only Dovani nation who is bound by the treaty. The only other nation who has signed the treaty is Kirlawa, who if you might remember, is not even on the continent of Dovani. How can you have a continental alliance with only one continental country? In regards to Article II, the withdrawal from the Triguno-Delataro-Solentian Trilateral Treaty of Friendship and Mutual Cooperation, two of the original signatory nations have since left the treaty making the provisions essential null. Our continued involvement with this treaty accomplishes nothing. We would be better off negotiating separate treaties with all other nations anyway as it better encapsulates our national interests anyway.
