Bill: Banking Reform Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: Democratic Liberal Alliance
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: October 4187
Description[?]:
By operating the large banks of the nation, the government invests expenditure and limited resources into unwieldy and expensive endeavours which yield little or no long term benefits to the public. By allowing for a break up of the banks and the establishment of private banking while maintaining control over the economy via a central bank, the government will drastically reduce its expenditure and reach, while also allowing for the financial sector to become diversified and provide greater competition (and therefore better deals) to the public. |
