Bill: National Anthem and National Flag Respect Act 4187

Details

Submitted by[?]: Patriotic Party of Baltusia

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: November 4187

Description[?]:

Members of Congress,

There are many things that our party is willing to compromise on, but basic respect of our national institutions is something we believe is right and good for the country.

We accept that patriotism comes in many forms but there is no harm in asking people of all ages to give a couple of minutes of their time to listen to the words of our national anthem and to understand why it is being played. Similarly our national flag - our proud symbol of our unity as a country - should be given the respect it deserves.

Recent pictures of people protesting in the streets after police laws were stripped did, I'm afraid to say, include a group of anarchists burning the national flag.

It is not acceptable behaviour and sickens me to the stomach. That is why we ask for this change in the law to help protect these institutions.

Home Secretary

MessageWe support this bill but oppose the rhetoric from other parties. These protests are clearly a response to a government which does not listen to its people! When the voters choice of party is completely excluded from the cabinet, they will seek to take matters into their own hands!

MessageMembers of Congress,

We must remind ourselves that the last Presidential cabinet was supported by 526 out of the 700 representatives in this house - who in turn represent 49.4 million out of the 65 million people who voted at the last election. It is, therefore, very clear this government is listening to its people and acting on the wishes of the vast majority.

The violent protestors represent those fringe groups of society whose appetite for anarchy will never be sated until fear and extremism rule. We as a party stand against this... and we expect Congress will always do the same too.

Random fact: It is not allowed to call more than 5 elections in 5 game years in a nation. The default sanction for a player persisting in the early election tactic will be a seat reset.
