Message | The RC, which had previously stated its support for only a limited number of highly regulated private schools, is now for further deregulating private schooling? What changed to make this classist proposal suddenly more palatable? |

Message | Its in interesting fact that private schools in europe have higher paid teachers, better educated and qualified teachers, produce more knowledgeable students and also manage to do that while still incorporating students who cannot afford to pay full price. |

Message | private schools are hardly the supporters of the class system that they used to be, (except in england's case where a big part of the class system is education). it is dubious to say that a class system will not exist if there are only public schools. There are some public schools that are going to be better than others at educating and those schools will get a reputation for the education they provide, likewise people will know which schools have lower performance. A public school system will not remove the class system in an age where education is one of the largest determiners of how someone can make their money. Blaming private schools for promoting a class system is merely a convenient scapegoat tactic to justify why many public schools are unsuccessful. |

Message | Furthermore, any restrictions placed on schools to maintain some balance would be flawed. For example, passing a law to the effect that only those who live in a certain area can be educated at school x will make problems worse becuase wealthy people will move to the area where the schools are the best, creating areas that are predominantly wealthy. |

Message | ooc: Er, I think that was an unfortunate typo on my part ! IC: We remain opposed to this degree of private education. |

Message | That boom they're associating with this bill would be our education system imploding on itself. |
