Bill: Income tax proposal of September 4188

Details

Submitted by[?]: Kalistan People's Party

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This bill proposes to change income taxes. It requires more than half of the legislature to vote yes. This bill will pass as soon as the required yes votes are in, or will be defeated if unsufficient votes are reached on the deadline.

Voting deadline: May 4189

Description[?]:

The Finance Ministry proposes to adjust the government's income tax policy to better address the economic situation of the United Republic of Kalistan. The Ministry has left the tax brackets unchanged. It has given relief to the lower tax brackets by reducing the tax rates. This move would have reduced our surplus. In order to prevent that, the Ministry has increased taxes on the richer strata of the society. Statistics show that this increase in taxes on the rich will not only compensate for the loss in revenue, it will instead increase our significantly increase our surplus. The Ministry hopes that the Assembly finds this proposal reasonable. At last, I would like to thank the Speaker for giving me the opportunity to speak in the Assembly. I also would like to thank the Assembly members for listening to me.

Message38, 47 and 50% for these brackets seems fair too high. We approve for now, but wish to see these lowered in the future.
