Bill: Culture Act: Copyright

Details

Submitted by[?]: Freedom Liberal Kalistan

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: December 4190

Description[?]:

Article 1 (Reason)

- All the works of technology and arts must have limited copyright protection ( e.g. for 45 years after publishing) because it will acknowledge the efforts of the individual who had create their own unique works.

- It is the fundamental human right ( Right Of Against Plagiarization) to all because it protects everyone's works from being acclaimed by other people as their own. Example: John produced a beautiful painting. Then, after a few years, his painting is selected for art prize. Suddenly, a man named Robert who is not a good painter claimed the prize for himself after telling the painting is his. Is it fair?

What can we do to help John?

- Since it is not permanent copyright, everyone can use the works after the time period or after the author death.. the copyright is intended to give benefit to the author as long as he lives...Afterwards, it becomes the national heritage for all..

Article 2 (Reason)

- Hate speech is one main concern of human rights. Although one could criticize something which is seen wrong or false, but they cannot criticize with emotional threats or using vulgar and sensitive issues. It will become Hate Speech.

- All human is gifted with the dignity and is one of the human rights ( Right Of Dignity). The hate speech violates this human right and cannot be made permissible.
Example: ( Issue regarding Religion)
Allowed Criticism : " I think that Religion X has the weakness in term of their missionaries and evangelism practices"
Hate Speech : " Well, the Religion X, their missionaries love to sodomize young children and suck their genitals until they have no time to evangelize"

- Hate speech makes the negative remarks and offensive citicism a norm in Kalistan if we do not stop them. So, we must prevent this from happening.

MessageArticle 1- We oppose the individual monopoly over ideas that a copyright represents. Since all ideas are derivative, and build upon the work of countless generations of scientists and thinkers and inventors before there, there is nobody who should be allowed to claim exclusive title to any idea. Nobody has the right to claim a portion of someone else's work, living or dead for their sole use and enrichment.

Article 2- When we make a law opposing hate speech and false speech, we leave it up to the State to decide what constitutes legitimate speech and what is illegitimate. We may not always have such an enlightened government. What if the state decides that criticism of the Government is hate Speech. It is very possible, considering the array of Parties that now, yes, even now, dictate the legislative prerogatives of the Republic, (The Fascists and their allies the "Center-Left" Party...) Fascism and control are very real, and if we can do our little part, through the law to ensure that the liberty of the People is not squelched by malignant forces of the Political Right, we should do that. At the very least, we should not jump at the opportunity to HELP them in their work!

MessageWe disagree with article two because the mainstream ideology sees most of our words as hate speech and our party members will not be punished for thinking the right way.

MessageI am swayed, after some thought, by our comrades in the Socialist Party. While we can agree to Article I still, hate speech is subjective.

Random quote: Although I understand and respect the intentions behind the gesture, this is not something that is universally understood or appreciated, and it tends to give out a negative impression of our party. ~ Anton Weinreich, General Secretary of the Dorvish Communist Party, pleading with his members to stop burning the national flag
