Message"The use of land mines is dangerous even in the occasions listed by the Republicans. After the threat has passed, the location and disarming of land mines is hard to complete and can result in both military and civilian casualties."

-John Fredrickson, Chair of UPB, MC

Message"Our party understands these risks, however we intend the placement to be closely monitored through restrictions regarding where they may be placed. The disarmament of the mines can be carried out through the use of remotely controlled robots. Although robots with the dexterity of human hands are still experimental, our party has faith that it is possible through the technology available to us now.

Even in the case of failure, the mines will be placed far enough away from civilian populations that only the actual robot operating on its disarmament will be destroyed."
