MessageThe DA propose to lower the age of majority in Aloria from 18 to 16. This will result in greater political engagement by the younger generation and increase the number of eligible voters in Aloria.

Given laws regarding the sale and consumption of alcohol, tobacco and fireworks are governed at a local government level, changing the age of majority will not have a material impact on consumption by 16 and 17 year olds. Sexual relations are currently only legal for consenting adults. The above proposal will stop the needless prosecution of mature and consenting young adults. Furthermore, adults not supported by another person currently receive a very basic subsistence income. This proposal would see homeless and abandoned youth benefit from this welfare policy.

We are open to debate on the topic and welcome the input of other parties.

MessageThe Progressive Liberal Party's legislative initiative named "Welfare Reform Act II" regulated the above named causes to these solutions: child benefit is mandatory for any citizen regardless of social level and not working citizens receive a minimum income which should keep them above the poverty line with the objective of them finding a workplace.

MessageSadly, that's simply not true. The law make schooling compulsory to age 18 and specifies the age of majority as 18.

Child benefits are paid to families, not individual children, and only adults not supported by another person shall be guaranteed a very basic subsistence income. Accordingly these aforementioned young adults (ie. 16 and 17 year olds) receive no family or government support.

We urge you to reconsider your opposition to this Bill.

Random fact: Players consent to the reasonable and predictable consequences of the role-play they consent to. For example, players who role-play their characters as committing criminal offences should expect those characters to experience the predictable judicial consequences of that.
