Bill: Religious Schools Act 4190

Details

Submitted by[?]: Patriotic Party of Baltusia

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: July 4191

Description[?]:

Members of Congress,

We believe the current law pertaining to religious schools is too restrictive. We have nothing to fear from recognised religions so we do not see why we cannot remove some of the strict regulations that are in place.

MessageSimply recognising a religion does not mean it should be free from regulation. For example, the government may recognise Ahmadism but that does not mean we want our schools teaching children how to create bombs and destroy buildings!

MessageMadame Wiley,

Whatever you think about this bill I find your intolerance towards a major religion such as Ahmadism completely distasteful.

MessageMadame Wiley,

Surely, now, you are being disingenuous, no? But, ok, I will play along with you for the record. I would like to ask why in the example you gave earlier that you suggested that de-regulating Ahmadi religious schools is, in your opinion, linked to teaching school children how to create bombs and destroy buildings?

Thank you

MessageI am not suggesting that is the case. It was hyperbole to illustrate the absolute necessity for regulation in the area of religious schools. We know that Ahmadis are more likely to be terrorists and murderers than regular Baltusians so we need to ensure we take the necessary precautions. That doesn't mean all Ahmadis are terrorists, just a significant quantity.
