The FTAA will prevent advertisers from simply lying about their products or services to take advantage of the people. Guidelines that they must abide by are as follows:

1) All advertising must be truthful and clear
2) All advertising must be appropriate (no nudity, no sexual themes before hours during which most children would not be exposed to it)
3) All advertising must be fair. Attack ads are allowed for political campaigning and for competition, but individuals may not be slandered
