This bill intends to increase in number the enfranchised person in the Republiek van Seridjan. Although this is not our ideal, we have brought this forward to fight for the rights of many of the oppressed in our republic. Article 1: All persons born in this republic or born to nationals of this republic are entitled to citizenship if they can pass, with high marks, a test assessing their knowledge of our history, culture, and government, and pass another test of basic mental competencies such as reading, writing, and practical math. Minor dependents of citizens are registered as citizens until their majority, as they can be assessed. Others who are dependent into their majority hold the citizenship status of their parent with the highest citizenship status. After 10 years of residency, at least five of them as a national, they may apply for citizenship if they can pass a test, with high marks, assessing their knowledge of our history, culture, and government, and pass another test of basic mental competencies such as reading, writing, and practical math. Random quote: “The people's war isn't just a war of destruction, it is also a war of construction. We will build new facilities, new hospitals, new farms. We will seek to improve the lives of the people around us. This struggle will be as costly as the struggle against the bourgeois army, and indeed will be even more damaging to the enemy.” - Comrade X, former Hulstrian politician |
