Voting deadline: November 4199

Description[?]:

Dear colleagues,
We immediately know that the PAP and GNP will oppose this. So this is more for the coalition.

In order to carry on bringing out successful bills, we propose a 5% tax. This will allow us to have enough money to make a difference for the better for our nation

MessageMr Speaker,

"We immediately know that the PAP and GNP will oppose this"

Well you can tell your your two DRA psychic that he was a bit wrong. We are not necessarily opposed to this bill but currently we have a budget surplus and do not see the need for raising taxes at all. Your psychic was right about Article 1 which would serve as an unfruitful hassle for both businesses and Government. A 3% tax will probably bring in every little after collection costs are deducted. We could have supported Article 2 if a need had been demonstrated. This tax would fall heavily on the shoulders of the less well off so it really should only be raised in a time of emergency. The only need demonstrated so far is just to appear to be bashing business so when you are done, can we get back to serious legislative business.

MessageWe, The Independent Democratic Party, believe that corporations should have to pay their fair share in taxes and the potential gains to our surplus can later be used to further increase our spending in education and technology. Therefor we strongly support this bill.
