Bill: Election Reform Bill
Details
Submitted by[?]: Freedom Party
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This bill asks for an amendement to the Constitution. It will require two-thirds of the legislature to vote in favor. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: October 4199
Description[?]:
It is often argued that four years is simply not enough time for the policies of the President to take affect and produce results, and therefore limit the effectiveness and essentially eliminates the purpose of the office. It can be argued that they President must spend the majority of their first term correcting or expanding on the achievements or disasters of the previous administration, and this could be seen by the people as not getting anything done, therefore eliminating any point of reelecting the President. Expanding each term to six years, or 72 months, should allow enough time to manage the work of the previous administration as well as introduce new policies and see the results of those policies so that the voters can make an informed decision. |
