MessageMr Speaker,

Two years in and we are off to another election? Can we, for once have a nation with elections without any interruptions? 33 seats vacant will leave only 4.58% of the population underrepresented and in the meantime, we can have neighbouring constituencies of the vacant seats take over the matters of that constituency! That is why we will be voting against this motion so as to ensure that Government is effective and the citizens won't view us as inefficient and weak by calling early elections. They gave us a mandate 2 years ago and now they have to give another mandate? Is this true democracy? We ask the political parties to consider my argument and to vote against this, not because I am scared of potential losses, but to pass sensible and progressive legislation for all Beluzians for the next two years.

MessageMr Speaker,

For now, we will vote No on the motion, but recently, we have noticed that the Labour Party hasn't attended Parliament for the past 2 days or so. If they disband, we will then vote Yes, not because we want to gain seats, but because we believe its the best interests of the people that their soon to be underrepresented views are listened to the remaining parties in Congress.
