Message | M. Modérateur, Honourable Members of l'Assemblée Nationale This bill may sound novel, but we believe that this will help provide parents, the opportunity to protect their parents. This bill will not infringe or limit the amount of people who can, by law, purchase video games. However, we understand that parents may not wish for their children to be exposed to things they regard as inappropriate. As they're the legal guardians until the child reaches the age of 18, we believe it is only right that they should have a clearer representation of what a game may involve regarding sexually explicit, or violent scenes. Introducing the obligation to present a content rating, which shall be determined by the Ministry of Education and Culture, will help provide greater transparency regarding the matter. We hope we have the support of the house, and thank it for its patience in listening to our bill. Mme. Cahun PCL Candidate for Minister of Education and Culture |
