| Our country has, for a very long time, worked to defend it. We spend a large sum of money to defend our country and work tirelessly to defend its people. Our sons and daughters of Pontesi could, at any time, be under combat against enemy forces. We have recently voted for the usage of nuclear weapons for the defense of our countries. But, we have single party governments that are very close and they can become issues. They can quickly turn fascist without any problems regarding opposition. This bill provides legislation to do the following. To begin full scale production and testing of chemical and biological weapons To allow our defense forces to use chemical weapons when they physically need to. A civilian force is used with the military in order to defend our country. Allowing Prisoners of War to be interrogated and if necessary for the sake of defense, mistreated For the first legislative action, the reason why we must be able to fully produce and test chemical and biological weapons is for the defense of our people. Many countries all over Terra have advanced chemical and biological weapons technology. The problem is, in any time, they can change their policy and they would be outright ready for a chemical attack against our people. We do not currently test or produce chemical weapons, so we will physically not be ready for that in the event that they choose to attack our country. We must have the right to test chemical weapons to secure our nation in general. For the second legislative action, the reason why we must allow our defensive forces to use chemical weapons is because by allowing them to use chemical weapons, it will reduce the suffering of our own forces during wartime. When war occurs, it is a dangerous and deadly situation. We may need to enter a heavily civilian populace where civilians and military are very much alike. The unfortunate truth of war is that civilian casualties are inevitable. But, in order to reduce the suffering of our sons and daughters, we must be able to use them when it is necessary. For the third legislative action, the reason why we must have a civilian force with a military force is that the military should not be the main enforcer within the civilian population. This misuage of our military is a crime against our people that The Party of Defense feels should no longer be applicable. A man from Bazelium should not be the enforcer against a man from Mitraeum. It is not a sound kind of country in that kind of situation. For the fourth legislative action, interrogation of Prisoners of War is absolutely necessary. Our officers in our military in Pontesi need intelligence. We can only invest so much money in intelligence, there is a certain point when we need to draw the line and extract intelligence from these prisoners of war. Military Intelligence usually has to use fast methods, and the quickest method is the usage of extreme pain and torture. Though it may be unfortunate, it is necessary to ensure the safety of our soldiers in domestic and foreign wars. Please consider the legislative actions brought forward today, and please vote yes on them. |
