I'm in favour of participating, although I'm not 100% sure at the moment how much time I'll have over the next month. If we participate, are we aiming for Trigunia to preserve her current top-rank economic position, or to struggle with the recession and slip down a rank or two? Or should we just "go with the flow" and see how it all works out? I'm okay with any of these options. Also, if we're going to be doing economic RP, it would be nice to have a general picture of what Trigunia's economy looks like. I've not played in Trigunia for a long time, so I don't really know very much, other than I vaguely remember Trigunia is meant to have a large defence industry and be a significant arms exporter. Can anyone provide more info? |

Personally, I'd like Trigunia to remain relatively strong but at the same time, we don't want to let that distract from having the realistic consequences of a crash play out. With regard to our economic character, I'm not entirely sure but I'll have a browse through the newspaper thread when I've got some more time to see if we get any idea from that. |

| Message | Maxington, who has a long history in Trigunia, has very kindly provided me with some info, and given me permission to quote him: Based on when i played in Trigunia for some months, it's economy was centred around oil and natural gas exports and its arms industry. However, when i was there i wasn't able to introduce a bill capable of being used as a system of bailing out financial institutions. You are virtually sitting down on a balloon of inflation, and due to the weight which the Trigunian economy carries, with increased defence spending, i would expect it would be hard to get it back on its feet without outside assistance. **Basically the Trigunian economy is solely based on oil and natural gas (i have oriented its economy in anticipation for such an event) with assistance from its arms export industry. The country is one of the leading powers in oil and natural gas production. I have made provisions for Neftkomp (Trigunia's State-owned Oil and Natural Gas Company), to be introduced into the Economic Stabilization Fund of the Kingdom of Kazulia, (it is similar to the real-world Norwegian Pension Fund Global). Currently it holds $100 Billion Rabols for Trigunia (due to the fact that the fund is focused on bailing the majority of Kazulia out). **Some months ago i posted in the Trigunian news that i would freeze oil production as a means of raising oil prices. (the target for Trigunia is to keep international oil prices high). (viewtopic.php?f=17&t=6768&start=480#p101764.) Trigunia and Kazulia, both oil based economies, will have to beg other oil and natural gas producing countries such as: Kafuristan, Jakania, Hutori, Dorvik, Kalistan etc. to either stop producing oil or cut their production rate by 75%. |

| Message | The largest industry in the country is Kirillovstal, which is an extensive mining and metal working state-owned industrial corporation, which originally started as a small steel working factory in Kirillovsk during the industrial revolution but has developed into an international corporation, although mainly operating in Trigunia. The defence industry of Trigunia is also relatively powerful and so is the oil and natural gas sectors. Overall industrial summary: mining, metal working, defence industry, oil and natural gas extraction is what Trigunia focuses on. Agriculture is medium sized. Trigunia supplies itself with its own vegetables and rye grain, and exports a lot of them, however wheat, oats and barley are rarely seen (due to Trigunia's harsh climate). Most farms are dedicated to crops, but cattle farms are pretty common, although mainly used for dairy. A lot of sheep graze on the hills of north Lesser Chadonia, and Trigunian ewe's milk is considered of fine quality. On the south of Lesser Chadonia however, there are quite a few goats and goats' cheese from Trigunia, although exported only in small amounts, is valued across Terra. Overall agricultural summary: vegetables, rye and dairy products from cows, goats and sheep Technology-wise, Trigunia make mainly arms (as said above) and computers, while mobile phones and other mobile devices are imported. Trigunia also is a leader in space exploration, with the Trigunian Imperial Space Agency, or TISA, being highly respected. Overall technological summary: arms, computers and space exploration That is how Trigunia developed under the Kadets/Narodniki, as other parties really did not exist to influence the economy enough. |

Oil and Natural gas (a commodity which Trigunia is extremely dependent on) will most likely be at the forefront of being the most influential industry in the country. Neftkomp (http://particracy.wikia.com/wiki/Neftkomp), the largest oil and natural gas producer in the Trigunian Empire and in the region of Keris and Macon, would be make the oil and natural gas industry the largest industry. (You do not know the power you hold with Neftkomp) it is respected among players as an extremely influential company. With Neftkomp you could virtually flood the oil and natural gas markets thus bringing many nations to their knees. | Message | OK, so Neftkomp - Trigunskaya Neftyannaya Kompaniya - Kirillovstal - Kirillovskie Staloliteynye i Metallurgicheskie Kombinaty - and maybe Dragmet - Gosudarstvennyy Kombinat Dragotsennyh Metalov - (Trigunian Oil Company, Kirillovsk Steel and Metallurgical Industrial Complexes and State Precious Metal Industrial Complex respectively) are the main industrial and/or extraction firms. Neftkomp dominates oil and natural gas extraction, Kirillovstal dominates all metallurgy and most metal and coal mining and Dragmet dominates all gold and silver ore mining (as well as platinum) and its manufacturing. | Message | To Triquinas: If that plan is to be formed, Neftkomp would have to flood the oil and natural gas markets with cheap oil (similar to was the Saudis are doing now). The large countries, Indrala, Hutori, Vanuku, Dorvik, Zardugal etc. would have to either reduce oil and natural gas output or increase their intake of our oil. In the end it is an economic win for us. |
