Bill: Economic Anti-Distortion Act

Details

Submitted by[?]: Grand National Party

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: December 4203

Description[?]:

Mr Speaker,

by intervening in the economy arbitrarily, the government prevents market players from adjusting to changing circumstances and thus purging excesses or correcting malinvestment. The same applies to bailouts and manipulation of the money supply through central banking. We therefore propose a return to the proven policies of sound money and laissez-faire.

Lucretia Llewellyn-Evans MLC
Leader of the Opposition
