Message | Mr. Speaker, What we are proposing here is actually a tax cut for all Rutanians earning less than 8,000 RUT. More than 60% of Rutanians will benefit from this tax cut, a crucial break for the middle class and the workers of this nation. To ensure we are at least revenue neutral (and perhaps taking in more money) we have asked the wealthiest Rutanians to step up and pay their share. Valentine Rivers Minister of Finance |
Date | 00:13:09, May 01, 2017 CET | From | Whig Party | To | Debating the Income tax proposal of December 4203 |
Message | This tax plan from Minister Rivers is a redistribution of wealth. The minister states that this plan would offer a tax cut to 60% of Rutanians while ignoring the fact that it will increase taxes for the rest of the nation. Wealth is created at the top and prosperity trickles down from there. We would support a tax cut for all Rutanians and not this redistribution of wealth. Furthermore this proposal would only raise 1 billion Rutas in additional funds and would fail to address the current budget deficit. Combined with the administrations budget plan this would see our debt and financial security of the federal government go in the wrong direction. We urge our colleagues in the Peoples Assembly to stand against this tax increase that wouldnt even begin to close the budget gap. Elmer Clark Former President Chairman of the Whig Party |

Message | Mr. Speaker, This tax proposal is nothing more than ordinary theft. The Libertarian Party doesn´t stand behind a tax cut for 60% of Rutanians but for 100%. Brannon Anderson, Leader Libertarian Party |
