Bill: Agricultural Innovation Act

Details

Submitted by[?]: Grand National Party

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: December 4204

Description[?]:

Mr Speaker,

the current government-enforeced regulations promote a vision of small-scale subsistence farming that limit the productive potential of agribusiness, especially by preventing the effective accumulation of capital through breaking up farms that are deemed 'too large' according to arbitrary government standards. In order to unleash innovation and growth, we would be well-advised to do away with these restrictions.

If the GNP are willing to get rid of article 1 then we will happily support the bill

MessageMr. Speaker,

The IDP are not against this bill in its entirety, just article 1. We would much rather leave article 1 for the local governments to decide. If the GNP is willing to change article 1 to "The government allows local governments to craft agricultural subsidy policy." then the IDP will help get this bill passed.

Random fact: Moderation will not accept Cultural Protocol updates which introduce, on a significant scale, cultures which are likely to be insufficiently accessible to players. In particular, for all significant cultures in Particracy, it should be easy for players to access and use online resources to assist with language translation and the generation of character names. Moderation reserves the right to amend Cultural Protocols which are deemed to have introduced significant cultures that are not sufficiently accessible and which are not being actively role-played with.
