Bill: Dictatorship Prevention Act of 4208
Details
Submitted by[?]: Partidul Libertății
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This bill asks for an amendement to the Constitution. It will require two-thirds of the legislature to vote in favor. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: October 4208
Description[?]:
Currently our police can be backed by the military in "serious emergencies". This leaves a loop hole for potential dictators to seize power, destroying our democracy as we know it. We must close this by keeping the military out of policing, leaving it to the police itself. Additionally, the ability for the government to hand funds out to only whom they choose can effectively keep power in the hands of one party, allowing dictators to rise. Finally, expanding the legislature size to more accurately reflect the votes of the citizens can make the country more democratic. |

Random fact: Cabinet ministers who disagree seriously with the head of government would usually be expected to resign. Parties within the cabinet may attempt to manoeuvre to replace the head of government though, for example by proposing a new cabinet bill or voting for an early election. |
