Bill: Foreign Aid Bill VII

Details

Submitted by[?]: Red Star Movement

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: October 2186

Description[?]:

Second time around.

Tied aid is a sorry excuse from a humanitarian response. It's only there to give governments the guilt relief for being self indulgent, greedy aristocrats and having no aid. Tied aid does nothing to help the recipient country's market, it only helps the donor country. It's entirely pointless and needs to be reformed.

MessageExactly. Tied aid helps us. Who are we as a government to care about people who are not our citizens? If private citizens wish to give to gaijin less fortunate, then they have that right.

Further, we will not orchestrate a budget to support this. It is a waste of our money.

MessageYour attitude frankly disgusts me. The fact that you are so cold hearted and selfish comes as a surprise, but we do not expect any more now. It's people like you that cause elitism in this world and would happily exploit anyone you possibly could.

Furthermore, if the parties that voted yes last time to this bill vote yes again, this ought to pass.

MessageDTP: Who would we be as people not to help fellow men? Isn't that what sets us above animals? Besides the morality of it all, its shortsighted not to help other countries in need, even if they are poor. It is not unheard of to have a poor country rise to power and prominence over time... and when that does happen, who do you think theyre gonna have better relations with, the country that helped them in time of need or the country that selfishly exploited them? This bill passing would mean that now we are paid with gratitude and a feeling of right, and later we may have even better financial payoff then if we exploited them now.

RSM: I do believe his view is sprung from the fact that he believes the government are not "people". While I earlier said that this could possibly be harmful for our own countrymen i forgot to mention that it would probably end even worse for others.
