Bill: The Right to Assemble

Details

Submitted by[?]: Populace Concordatum

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: July 4210

Description[?]:

This bill intends to further the endless fight for personal liberty by striping away the abilities of government to infringe upon the rights of the people.

The current legislation poses a primal danger to our inviolable democracy. The right of assembly is a sacred part of our democracy, and the government should not be allowed to restrict it. The genuine possibility that these powers can pose a threat to our personal liberties should warrant their change.

MessageWhile we fully support people' rights to assemble, police forces shall be able to intervene, for example, when two groups with radically opposing opinions and tendency to violence assemble at the same place at the same time.
We must consider public safety in order to ensure liberties of people including the liberty to assemble debated in this proposal.

Random fact: Parties have the ability to endorse another party's candidate for the Head of State election (if there is one). This adds a strategic element to the elections.
