Bill: Austerity measures of 4209
Details
Submitted by[?]: Volkspartei für Freiheit und Demokratie
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This bill proposes to change the allocation of funds in the budget. It requires more than half of the legislature to vote yes. This bill will pass as soon as the required yes votes are in, or will be defeated if unsufficient votes are reached on the deadline.
Voting deadline: June 4210
Description[?]:
Austerity means recovery. There can be no real recovery unless our nation gets its public finances in order. We simply can’t spend our way out of a recession. Even in normal circumstances that’s a recipe for inflation and instability. Within Narikaton and Darnussia it would place untenable strains on the DAR. Markets will only be reassured by credible, long-term plans to cut deficits and debt. Only then can sustainable growth resume. However, we recognize that the areas of development and science are absolutely vital to keep up to date with the rest of Terra, and therefore vital for our economy. The financial ministry requires extra money for the sake of reorganizing our economy; the reforms created by the communists have left our administrative system to be both large and ineffective. |

Message | Austerity means cutting 70 billion from healthcare in yet another effort to kill off the poor. It means destroying our children's future by halving our education budget. It means breaking our prison system and attacking the struggling food and agriculture industries. These cuts are unbelievably extreme. And, frankly, this defecit isn't a red defecit; and this crisis isn't a red crisis, it's a capitalist crisis. Volker Wittke VP Leader OOC: Also it's DAR or Rupan (?) rather than pound haha :p but whatever it doesn't really matter |

Message | We should add that the ongoing privatization of public education and healthcare will largely render the huge sums of money currently assigned unneeded and quite frankly nothing more but a waste of tax payer's money. Our agricultural industries are doing fine and well; they should after all not rely upon the government to provide them their income. If they fail to adapt to the ever changing market then why should the taxpayer bail them out? Rudolf Stranz Chairperson VFD |

Message | Oh, my. Truly a goldmine of VFD insanity and lies! You never cease to amaze me, Stranz. Firstly, "the ongoing privatization of public education" will not render education spending worthless, only more important as the wealthy grow ever more privileged and the poor children are left to rot in a VFD underfunded education system. And the "ongoing privatization of healthcare" simply doesn't exist. We created the public health system for a reason: to ensure healthcare is provided for all. Private clinics are allowed to exist to reduce pressure on the system. Your policy seems to be to leave the poor to die. We still have a strong national health system. This privatization you speak of simply doesn't exist. Not only this, but how is healthcare a waste of money? It ensures all pay lower costs. Rather than paying large sums when you have any issues, you are able to pay for healthcare simply through your standard taxes, ensuring the cost is spread through society and not placed wholly on the individual. I could discuss this for hours, but hopefully the Bundestag sees the necessity of this system. And as for your absolute dismissal of the agriculture industries -- well... I am truly, truly baffled. Local, homegrown food industries provide low-cost foods and jobs for rural communities, not to mention that this crisis isn't their fault, it's the inevitable collapse of the capitalist world econom-- Oh! But I forget. You hate the poor, you hate the workers. So why should you care? Finally, you seem to have this delusion that there is the taxpayer and everyone else. When in reality everyone is the taxpayer. So really they pay for themselves. That's... kind of the point of taxes. I think it's time we ended this particular debate, because you're clearly never going to see sense. Or perhaps you already do, and you're simply so devoid of a moral compass, so cold-hearted and so malicious you simply don't care. Who knows? Volker Wittke VP Leader |

Message | We were supporting this budget until the sudden drop of the Health budget! We ask our government colleges, why the need for this drop is so necessary, we have a deficit, not a black hole! Denis Herkenhoff Finance Minister |

Random fact: Moderation will not accept Cultural Protocol updates which introduce, on a significant scale, cultures which are likely to be insufficiently accessible to players. In particular, for all significant cultures in Particracy, it should be easy for players to access and use online resources to assist with language translation and the generation of character names. Moderation reserves the right to amend Cultural Protocols which are deemed to have introduced significant cultures that are not sufficiently accessible and which are not being actively role-played with. |
